Hemp CBD FAQ
Where are you based?
Our Dispensaries is are in Galway, Kilkenny and Dublin! We love chatting with people in person and helping them along their journey with CBD.
What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?
Cannabidiol is one of the primary compounds found in the hemp plant (species cannabis sativa). CBD and other compounds in this plant are known collectively as cannabinoids. The difference between hemp and marijuana is defined by THC content, another prominent cannabinoid. Particular species of hemp are grown to be high in CBD and low in THC. These strains are sought after for their therapeutic properties.
Is CBD legal?
100% Legal – Our CBD products have either none or less than 0.2% THC to comply with legal restrictions in Ireland and the EU. They are also derived from the EU approved list of species.
Our CBD flowers and/or food products are NOT marijuana, medical marijuana, hashish oil, or any other type of drug controlled by any illegal or controlled substances Act. In fact, they are not a drug/pharmaceutical at all. Little Collins CBD products are simply natural, sometimes raw, plant-based foods. They are 100% legal within Ireland and the EU.
Will CBD get me high?
No. None of our products have any 'psychoactive' effects. All the products we offer contain no or less than 0.2% THC
What are the health benefits of CBD?
We are not professional medical practitioners and our CBD-related products are foods. We cannot and do not make any medical claims about CBD.
However, we certainly encourage you to do your own research! There are a lot of positive case-studies centred around CBD and how it may assist with pain relief, anxiety, stress, inflammation, arthritis and sleep disorders. It has also been linked with treatment of serious diseases such as, cancer, epilepsy, MS, Alzheimer's and diabetes.
You can also visit the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. If you are sick or unwell, we advise you to contact your GP.
What is the best way to consume CBD?
Broadly speaking, taking a natural CBD Oil under the tongue is the path of least friction to this product. Like with any food, however, everyone has their own tastes and inclinations. What works for a career-driven mum mightn't work for an elderly couple or for an athlete. Our mission is to unlock the best ways to consume this amazing plant for a wide range of people.
At the moment, our favourite method is a cup of hemp tea with a cacao, peanut-butter and CBD brownie. What's yours? Please feel free to send us your product requests and suggestions!
